The nominees for Best Picture are:
- The Artist
Haven’t seen it. Seems like a heavy favourite, which is interesting.
- The Descendants
Haven’t seen it. I read the book (loved it – one of my faves of last year) but I heard the movie wasn’t fantastic.
- Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Haven’t seen it. I read the book and liked it. I have no feelings about the movie, based on the one mediocre trailer I saw.
- The Help
Saw it and read the book! I can’t believe this movie was nominated for best picture. I’m so confused by this. Although I will say that I thought Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer did a really great job.
- Hugo
Saw it and feel like I’m missing something because I didn’t love it? Am I missing something? It was a sweet movie but I almost fell asleep?
- Midnight in Paris
Saw it and loved it. My choice for best picture. Quirky and romantic and lovely and unlike any movie I can recall.
- Moneyball
Saw it and really, really liked it. I wouldn’t be upset if it won.
- Tree of Life
Didn’t see it. Did anyone?
- War Hose
No idea.
